After working for years as an Information Technology (IT) consultant in my home of Washington, DC and travelling in Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America overseeing technology implementations for USAID and various firms in the private sector, I decided to take a chance. Filmmaking had always been an elusive dream. Nevertheless, an MFA in Film later, a stint with ABC/Disney in Hollywood and work on various projects as a director, screenwriter, editor and cinematographer in Belize, Ghana and stateside, I am now returning to IT, using all of my talents, experience and passions to develop applications that empower users with the technology they need most.
The thirst for mastery is incessantly unquenched. Moore's Law may arguably be dead when it comes to the pace of new chip development and production, nevertheless the need for application developers to constantly evolve remains immutable.
Using Microsoft's ASP.NET design architecture I'm responsible for developing web based applications for enterprise scale and small businesses. Equally adept in front and back end design as well as versed in code first approaches to successfully resolving the most perplexing business demands.
Developed, produced and distributed independent films for theatrical release and video distribution. Free lanced on several film projects for both domestic and international audiences.
Managed a team of producers, editors, writers and camera operators on the production side of BNT and on the broadcast side a team of engineers, schedulers and other personnel that generated content and maintained a round-the-clock network production schedule.
As a consultant and engineer for the Caribbean, Africa and US I'm responsible for managing complete life cycle of IT projects, devising strategies to enhancee and upgrade technology of ecitsting IT systems, assembling and training implementation teams, drafting technical documentation, providing deliverable presentations and reports on findings and developing costing proposals and implementation plans for prospective business.
Studied with Ethiopian filmmaker Haile Gerima (Sankofa, Harvest: 3,000 Years) and film and TV veteran the late Al Freeman Jr. (Malcolm X, Down in the Delta, One Life to Live), winner of ABC/Disney's 2005 talent development grant for screenwriting and several awards for producing, editing and screenwriting.
As an ITT Fellow, studied in the Arabic Language Unit and received a certificate of completion at the culmination of the program. Acted on AUC's stage in various productions including Shaw's "Caesar and Cleopatra" as the God Ra and Apollodorus, and Pinter's "The Lover" as the Husband/Lover.
I began my matriculation at Morehouse College in Atlanta and graduated from Howard University.
